Our About
How we evaluate and rank AI tools on AI Hunter.
5 Evaluation Criteria
Popularity & Search Volume
How many people search for and use this tool? We analyze Google search volume, estimated traffic and presence in online discussions.
Versatility
How many use cases does the tool cover? A tool that excels in a single area will be rated differently than an all-in-one platform.
Product Quality
Real-world performance, reliability, verified user reviews and independent benchmarks. We test each tool ourselves.
Accessibility
Free plan available? Entry price? Ease of getting started? A powerful but inaccessible tool will be penalized.
Momentum
Recent growth, update frequency, product innovation. We value tools that are actively improving.
Our Process
Each tool is evaluated on these 5 criteria with a score from 1 to 10. The final rating is the weighted average, converted to a 5-point scale.
Rankings are updated regularly to reflect market changes. A tool can move up or down based on its recent performance.
Category rankings may use different weightings. For example, in the "AI Code" category, product quality weighs more than versatility.
Independence
No sponsored placements. Positions in our rankings are never for sale. A tool cannot pay to move up in the ranking.
Transparent affiliate links. Some links to tools are affiliate links that help us fund the site. These commissions do not influence our ratings, positions or recommendations.
Public criteria. Our methodology is public and identical for all tools, whether they are partners or not.
Data Sources
Ratings and review counts are aggregated from public sources: G2, Capterra, Product Hunt, App Store, Google Play and our own evaluations.
Pricing information is verified directly on the official websites of each tool.
