Not yet universally, but the EU AI Act pushes toward mandatory marking of AI content. Google and OpenAI already embed watermarks in their content.
Can AI watermarks be removed?
Text watermarks are hard to detect but also hard to remove. Image watermarks (C2PA) are more robust as they're embedded in metadata.
